There's always something going on in the Poconos, that's why it's one of the
favorite destinations on the East Coast. Over 3 million people visit and have a
great time (87 people don't, but you can't please everyone.)
Garlic Festival - Labor Day Saturday Downtown
Stroudsburg If you love garlic, this where you have to be! Over 10,000 people descend on Downtown Stroudsburg to sample everything from garlic
pizza, to garlic wine, to garlic you-name-it. Local restaurants and growers
participate in this fun event. There's even a garlic tuba band (don't ask,
just come and see it!)
Shawnee Balloon Festival - Beginning of October.
Held at Shawnee Inn every year. This is a great
festival and watching the many balloons lift off early in the morning and late
in the day is real treat for everyone. There's food, entertainment, arts and
crafts vendors, rides, children's corner, petting zoo and fireworks the first
two days. Balloon launches are typically 7:30 am and 4:30 pm each day weather
permitting. There are entry and parking fees.
Stroudsburg
Farmer's Market - Every Saturday May - November
This Farmer's Market is held on Main Street Saturday mornings from about 7:00
am until noon in front of the Mellon bank building between Eighth and Ninth
Streets on the North side of the street. The market features fresh native
Monroe County produce, meats, baked goods, herbs, plants and many other items.
This market is a real treat.
Downtown Stroudsburg
Art Walk - Stroll the streets of downtown Stroudsburg from gallery to gallery
and view opening exhibits of first rate art, fine crafts and live performances.
The art walk happens on the first Saturday of every month from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
Halloween
Extravaganza, Halloween Saturday, Downtown
Stroudsburg Halloween is special in Stroudsburg. Many of the stores "dress"
themselves. There's a children's and pet's parade down Main Street and all sorts
of scary things!
United Way Super Saturday, Mid-September, Stroudsburg
Crafts, food and fun down Main Street in Stroudsburg. This is a big fund
raiser for the United Way. Much entertainment and great and unique gifts.
Tree
Lighting in Courthouse Square, Black Friday (Friday after Thanksgiving) in Downtown
Stroudsburg. Start your holiday shopping downtown, enjoy live musical
performances and get in the holiday spirit with this annual tradition of the
lighting of the town's Christmas tree.

Saturday, Mid-December, Downtown Stroudsburg.
